Brevo Conversations and Article 50: who shows the AI notice?
Formerly Sendinblue: Brevo chat and bots are yours vis-à-vis the visitor. Notice when the widget opens, not only in the terms.
Brevo (formerly Sendinblue) runs on many French small businesses. Conversations and automated replies are not “obviously human” once a bot qualifies or answers. Article 50(1) then requires a clear notice at the first interaction.
Brevo’s privacy policy, or a paragraph in your legal notice, is too late during the chat. A readable sentence on the widget, in the page language, is the useful minimum.
Brevo provides the tool. The site keeps the register (Brevo Conversations, support/leads use) and, if possible, a display log of the notice on its domain.
Clairia detects conversations-widget.brevo.com and Sendinblue markers on the homepage. Help with compliance, not a Brevo certification or legal advice.
